Mixed Precipitation’s Picnic Operetta 2013 Access Info

General Info

Welcome to the picnic operetta, a unique outdoor project staged in non-traditional performance spaces throughout Minnesota! Performances are completely outdoors, so be prepared for sun, bugs, grass and other joys of the natural world! We encourage patrons to bring bug spray, sunscreen and plenty of water. We have some of these supplies available for patrons, but throw it in your bag if you think of it!

No need to bring chairs, we have plenty of seating for everyone on blankets laid out on the ground.  For patrons who are uncomfortable sitting on the ground, we have limited bench seating on a first-come-first-served basis. Please ask the garden ushers for any assistance you may need to enjoy the performance and we’ll help as best we can.

The tasting menu is comprised of delectable bites of food to whet your appetite; we encourage you to share with fellow audience members and be aware that it is not intended as a full meal. In the event of inclement weather, the show WILL go on at a nearby rain site.

Site Accessibility: For patrons needing assistance, particularly those with wheelchairs, we recommend bringing a companion along to help navigate the space. While the garden is flat and wheelchair accessible, it is comprised of planted rows of vegetables, making it difficult for wheelchair navigation. It is important that patrons do not tread on the rows or disrupt the garden. We recommend that patrons with mobility challenges or those who use wheelchairs choose another performance site in order to have the best experience of the operetta. There is also very little shade at this location. There is an accessible bathroom located in the California building across the street from the garden location.
