Two chances to celebrate with us and catch a glimpse of exciting works in progress for Mixed Precipitation.
- Pop-up performance Saturday, June 7th at the Midtown Farmers Market
- Party on Wednesday, June 11th at Arbeiter Brewing

Mixed Precipitation is presenting a mini pop-up opera performance in June. This new work-in-progress features Baritone Mark Billy and a suite of tunes inspired by Don Quixote, including music by Maurice Ravel and Ruperto Chapí y Lorente.
We are collaborating with choreographer Colette Illarde and dancer Amanda Dlouhy of Zorongo Flamenco. Instrumentals Ben Abrahamson on guitar and Jason Kornelis on cello mix art song and Spanish Zarzuela. Performers Maje Adams, Barbara Berlovitz, Ariel Donahue, Jada Windom, and the Zorongo Student Performance Company bring the stories and poetry to life.
Three chances to catch us in action!
- Saturday, June 7th at 10 am and 11:30 am at the Midtown Farmers Market
- Wednesday, June 11th at 7:30 at Arbeiter Brewing. Outdoor performance will take place on the north side of Moon Palace Books.
Midsummer Celebration June 11th
VENUE UPDATE: Due to the closing of Du Nord Cocktail Room – this event has moved to Arbeiter Brewing Company (3038 Minnehaha Avenue). Parking is available in the lot on the south side of the brewery, accessible from Minnehaha Avenue. Here’s a helpful link with a map and parking instructions.
Come celebrate 17 years of outdoor opera and theatrical experiments! We’ll present our mini-opera, Windmills on Lake Street, outdoors at 7:30. Look for the outdoor stage on the north side of Moon Palace Books. The outdoor performance is approximately 20 minutes. Limited folding chairs provided.
We then move inside Arbeiter Brewing for food, drinks, music, and artistic updates from the Mixed Precipitation team. Mixed Precipitation artists offer musical updates on recent projects, including selections from Puccini’s La Fanciulla del West, Berlioz’s Beatrice et Benedict, and Carmen as a true crime saga, and more flamenco dance!
All are welcome to dance and dream of the future! There will be opportunities to donate at the event.
Mixed Precipitation serves music and tasty tapas by Jason Palatonos of Fete Exceptionnelle. The menu includes vegetarian and vegan options. Please bring cash and other forms of payment for beverages, including the release of their Pride Beer, Stonewall, a tasty Tangerine Wheat Ale.
A $20 contribution per person is encouraged for this event. Give more as you’re able!
These performances are supported by Lake Street Lift, a program funded by Lake Street Council and the Graves Foundation. We’re grateful to celebrate and share art in this wonderful neighborhood.
