Please note this information regarding parking, directions, restrooms, and accessibility for each Picnic Operetta performance site.

PARKING: Accessible parking spots are located in the Hennepin History Museum parking lot on Third Avenue South, across the street from the park.

BATHROOMS: An accessible portable restroom will be available on-site.

DOGS: Only service animals are welcome in the museum. Leashed animals are welcome in the park.

Note: Audience members will need to traverse a small, grassy hill to the seating area. Everyone with mobility access needs is welcome to drive there and be dropped off.

You can find shady places to sit at the edge of the performance area. Picnic tables are available as a seating option.

PARKING: There is a parking lot located directly south of the Visitor Center.

PARKING: There is a gravel parking lot next to the performance area. Access this parking area from Charlton Street. Look for the signs identifying spots for accessible parking.

NOTE: This farm includes dirt roads and gravel paths. For those requiring assistance, we recommend bringing a companion to help navigate the space.

PARKING: Vehicles can park on either side of the road and in the turnaround in Dodge Nature Center’s driveway. Spots will be reserved for accessible parking.

DIRECTIONS: Lenont Road is also know as a the 904 Road and the Virginia Ely Road. The performance area is a mowed, grassy field beside the orchard on the east side of the property. Front of house staff will greet you beside the farmhouse to indicate the way.

BATHROOMS: An accessible portable restroom will be available on-site.

DOGS: Friendly dogs are allowed at the farm. Deer fences will enclose the growing areas, which dogs are not allowed to enter.

Cook’s Country Connection

The farm has a sunny, converted horse pasture where the performance will take place.

PARKING: Signs will direct you to the ample on-site parking.

This community garden is located in Nelson Park, in the Bronx Park neighborhood, just west of Dakota Park. There is a grassy area in the gardens for seating, without much shade.

PARKING: A parking lot with accessible spots adjoins the Nelson Park Community Building.

DIRECTIONS: The garden is located one block north of 26th and Georgia, accessible from Georgia Avenue. Use this map. This garden is easily accessible by bike from the Cedar Lake Regional Trail, five blocks east of Louisiana Avenue. Audience members can enter the gardens through two paved asphalt sidewalks.

BATHROOMS: Accessible bathrooms are located inside the Nelson Park Community Building.

DOGS: Dogs are allowed.

September 9, 2pm
JD Rivers’ Children’s Garden
2900 Glenwood Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55405

This site is just off Glenwood Avenue and visible from the street. The audience seating area is flat and grassy, with shade provided by a large tree.

PARKING: Street parking is available on Glenwood Avenue and on neighboring streets. Signs will designate spots for accessible parking.

DIRECTIONS: Look for the large Adirondack chair on Glenwood Avenue. For directions, use this link. 

BATHROOMS: There is an accessible outdoor toilet near the community garden. It is off a paved walking path.

DOGS: Dogs are allowed on leash. To care for the Garden, please pick up dogs’ poop, and don’t let them pee on the veggies.

PARKING: Ample free parking is available on street and in two free municipal ramps within 1 block of the theatre. Accessible parking spots are designated on the street directly in front of the building’s two entrances on 3rd Street and East Avenue.

This farm is approximately 40 minutes south of Downtown Rochester, 2 hours and 10 minutes south of Minneapolis.

PARKING: Folks from the farm will be on-hand to give parking directions.

DIRECTIONS: Terrain is hilly. If you have limited mobility, you’re welcome to be dropped off by vehicle directly at the seating area.

BATHROOMS: Bathrooms are located in the pizza kitchen.

DOGS: No dogs allowed.

Loring Park Garden of the Seasons

The garden is located on the north side of Loring Pond in Loring Park, just south of Downtown Minneapolis and the corner of Harmon and Hennepin Avenue. The audience seating area that immediately surrounds the garden is a combination of open grass lawn and large shade trees.

PARKING: Street parking available at meters surrounding the park.

Carleton Arboretum

The 800 acre Carleton Arboretum is directly adjacent to the college campus and athletic fields. The setting for the production will be in a pine grove nestled in a wooded area. Access to the seating area is along a paved path, which while mostly level, starts with a moderately steep hill for about 250 feet. The setting for the performance is mowed grass and quite level.

PARKING: Parking will be in the parking lot adjacent to the College Recreation Center. There are several accessible parking spots in front of the Recreation Center. If you look at the College map below, then click on parking, and accessibility, it will show where these parking spots are located.

BATHROOMS: Accessible bathrooms will be available in the Recreation Center available for this performance. You will pass the Recreation Center on the way to the performance area.
